The Best UK Routes To Drive After Lockdown

The coronavirus outbreak has caused mayhem throughout the world, killing tens of thousands and forcing millions of people to self-isolate at home.

Lockdown has more or less brought a halt to everything – whether it be exercising freely, seeing friends and family, or having the freedom to drive wherever you want.

With this in mind, we thought we’d compile a short list of the best UK-based drives to do once the lockdown restrictions are lifted.

1 – Northern Ireland.

While travelling abroad may be out of the question just now, that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to still go and visit the best of what the UK has to offer.

Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coastal Route is the perfect example of this – a 120-mile route which runs along the coast between Derry and Belfast.

Voted fifth in the world’s top scenic views back in 2006, it’s not really hard to see why – especially you’re able to go out and enjoy the drive for yourself.

2 – North Wales.

North Wales’ exhilarating 20-mile route known as the Evo Triangle takes your right the way across North Wales and is the ideal place to test out a new motor.

Made up of the A5, A543, and the B4501 roads, the route runs along the edge of Snowdonia National Park, meaning you’ll take in incredible views and scenery as you navigate around each corner, hill and – of course – sheep.

3 – Yorkshire Moors, England.

North Yorkshire’s twisting 21-mile drive takes you right the way through incredible moorland and sea views.

From the A169 between Pickering and Whitby, take in the luscious English scenery, and prepare yourself for a drive like no other.

As an added bonus as well, since this route is fairly unknown, this makes it much quieter and clearer than the other drives listed here – unless you visit in the peak of summer, of course.
