It’s that time of year again – Silverstone and the British Grand Prix

All of the tracks on the F1 circuit are important. Many of them are iconic like Spa, Monaco and Monza but none seem quite as exciting as Silverstone. This may well be because we are a British company and we cant help being a little bias, but I am sure you can forgive us for that. Whatever country you are from, if you love F1, you are highly likely to love the British Grand Prix. The UK has some fanatical fans, the potential for rain almost any day of the year and more motoring history than you can shake a crank shaft at.

Martin Brundle was once quoted as saying, missing the  British Grand Prix form the calender would be like not racing at Monaco. The track itself started life as an airfield during the Second World War. After the war it was hired in 1948 for the Royal Automobile club’s International Grand Prix using the 2 runways as the straights and the infield roads as corners. Since then it has grown into possibly the worlds greatest racetrack!

Silverstone Course

Sadly we are all too busy making sure the motorsport world has plenty of working fire extinguishers to go along this weekend. Many of the cars on the F1 grid will be using our products and we would like to wish them all the very best of luck. This season has been an interesting one and clearly there is, once again, a considerable Mercedes domination. We are, however, looking forward to Ferrari pushing Lewis and Nico hard and perhaps Bottas getting a good look in too!

If you have a F1 car, or perhaps something a little less expensive and you would like to speak to us about plumbed in or hand held fire extinguishers please get in touch.
