The Belgian Grand Prix is Here

As you may expect, the team at FEV are keen F1 fans and the fact that we also have the pleasure of providing a number of cars on the grid with fire extinguisher systems just makes it even more important.

Belgian Grand Prix Track

The Belgian Grand Prix is always a special one; everyone loves Eau Rouge, it is such an iconic corner. It is one that takes skill but more importantly it takes guts. It is one of those corners that you have to take flat out, if you don’t then you are simply not going to get the speed on the straight that comes next. This is compounded by the fact the exit of the turn is uphill so any last minute nerves can cost a great deal of speed and damage lap times. It is interesting to see this year the corner has a larger curb built in to stop the drivers cutting the corner too much. Some people are suggesting this will make it harder for the drivers to take the corner “flat” so you may well see some interesting moves made on the following straight this weekend.

As always, there is lots of news flying around like the confirmation that Raikkonen will be staying with Ferrari next season despite suffering a little this year. Maldonado has been quoted as saying his future at Lotus is safe, but that was just before he crashed in first practice.

We will be routing for Hamilton and Button as usual but it seems Rosberg is a little faster in practice so it will be an interesting race.

We love F1 and we love all motorsport. Whatever form you are involved in get in touch to see how we can help make you safer and your fire extinguisher systems more efficient and reliable.
