Much of our time here at FEV is spent working on fire extinguishers that are used directly in cars. These can range from classics and homespun track monsters right up to F1 racers, not to mention most kinds of cars in between. This is what we do very well and what we have been at the cutting edge of for some years, however, there is another aspect to fire safety and, to what we are able to offer.

Naturally, you want to have a fire suppression system in your race car, classic or supercar but if you are racing you also want the people around you to be able to put a fire out. This includes marshals at race events. Let’s be honest, if you do have a bad crash you may not be able to do much about a fire so the people in the pits and around the course are essential and need to be well equipped.

Fire Extinguishers in Pit Lane

We are able to provide a number of handheld fire extinguishers suitable for motorsport use. These could be sat in the pitlane and in your garage area at a race. If during testing you came in with something smouldering like a sticky brake calliper, they are there to stop it from getting out of hand. In a more serious situation like petrol fire in the pits, these handheld units can be grabbed by you or anyone around you to make sure it is dealt with and stopped. Marshals are always an integral part of any event, without them races would never happen and most do it for free! These people are ready to rush to any accident and help out, this could mean help control a fire enough to get the driver out and this also means they need handheld fire extinguishers, which we can provide.

If you would like to find out more about our options for pitlane and other types of MSUK-approved fire extinguishers do get in touch, we are always happy to discuss different uses and the appropriate type of suppressant for your needs.
