Here at FEV, we’re all thrilled to be exhibiting our FIA Fire Suppression solutions at the forthcoming Professional Motorsport World Expo in the German city of Cologne this November. We’re heading for the Köln Messe trade fair and exhibition centre, and will be there between November 9 and 12.

This event, also known as the PMW Expo, is one of the biggest and most important trade fairs for motorsport and racing technology in Europe. Indeed, numerous impressive innovations in the industry have made their debuts at it over the years.

It’s only the second PMW Expo that organisers have been able to hold since Covid-19. And we’re confident it’s going to be even bigger and better than the 2021 event, which itself marked a triumphant post-pandemic return to business as usual. So we couldn’t be more excited to be there, not only to present our own products but also to have the opportunity to check out some of the motorsport’s very latest innovations and technological solutions at the same time.

We know that some very influential decision makers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will also be among those present, making us especially pleased to be exhibiting and demonstrating our new technologies and plumbed-in fire suppression systems and extinguishers.

Europe’s biggest motorsport technology trade show

The Professional Motorsport World Expo is one of Europe’s most important motorsport technology and engineering trade fairs, with more than 230 world-leading suppliers in attendance each time the event is held. There are displays in eight different segments, from logistics and transportation to racewear and progressive technologies.

PMW Expo takes place every year to showcase the very latest innovations in the worlds of motorsport and high-performance road cars, and many racing teams are always there, alongside manufacturers, dealers and distributors. The event also brings together developers, race team managers, service crews and others. So since it was first held in 2006, PMW Expo has built up a worldwide reputation as one of the key trade shows in the industry.

As well as the exhibition itself, the event has speakers, technology seminars, live demos and discussion panels, with experts and industry insiders sharing their expert insight and cutting-edge knowledge. And, in 2022, this industry fair will once again host the Professional Motorsport World Expo Awards, where brands, developers, suppliers and others vie for the top prizes in various motorsport categories.

What kind of innovations can we expect to see at the PMW Expo 2022?

We can anticipate seeing numerous varied kinds of exhibitor displays across the three days in Cologne. And these will cover myriad different areas, including:

  • Vehicle components
  • Safety equipment
  • Racing engineering tools
  • Data testing and logging systems

Not only that but we are expecting the following to spark lively discussions at the event as well:

  • 3D printing
  • Race engines and parts
  • High-performance race car materials, body parts and forming systems
  • Transmission parts and gearboxes
  • Exhaust systems and fabrication
  • Ultra-high-pressure fuel systems and fuel cells
  • Suspension components and systems
  • Harnesses and seats
  • Safety cages and energy-absorbing materials
  • Information displays and timing
  • Refuelling systems
  • Batteries
  • Electro management systems, ECUs and chassis management tech
  • Brakes, wheels and similar parts
  • Garage kit
  • Safety equipment including fire extinguishers
  • Accessories including racewear
  • E-powertrains and e-powertrain management for race cars

And, of course, this list isn’t exhaustive; there’ll be a lot more going on besides …
